Many of our clients (before they were clients!) wanted to wear fur, but thought there were fashion issues that prevented them from going forward. We provided several ways to satisfy their secret desires. At their suggestion, we offer these ideas to help you make choices that will result in your own flattering Noble Fur:

"I'm not sure what color to get."

Many of our clients could not decide whch color faux fur to choose. To look best in your Noble Fur, wear a faux fur color that is closest, or a direct contrast, to your hair color. We carry a variety of fabric colors from white and cream through beige and brown to gray and black, AND combinations of those. The choice seems endless.

Some of the dark brown tones in our faux furs tend to bring out the red highlights in your hair. Blondes, brunettes, and women with black hair will like the dark brown and black shadings because it brings out your eyes and makes your hair sparkle.

The black and gray faux furs tend to look best with snow white or black hair. Our chinchilla and silver fox furs are gorgeous and many young women want those. We suggest they wait to wear them until their hair color is closer to the faux fur color.

"It's too long."

Many of our clients noticed that our full-length Noble Furs are extra-long. Full length fur coats look best when the hem is between the calf and ankle. This proportion gives a pleasing, regal appearance. Faux fur coats that are too short tend to make you look top-heavy and ready to tip over.

"It adds bulk that I don't need."

If you think you're too short or full-figured to wear a fur coat, we ask you to reconsider. Our clients have found various ways to reduce the bulk normally associated with faux fur:

Fabric with low or flat pile

Faux fur fabrics with smoother or shorter pile will provide a slimmer silhouette. The minimal thickness added can be similar to that of a wool coat. Look for the words "low", "flat", and "short" in the color descriptions.

Fabric with vertical design characteristics

Faux fur fabrics with color stripes or simulated pelts provides an elongated, slimming effect. Look for the words "stripe" and "pelt" in the color descriptions.

UnderWraps™ Pocket

To eliminate bulk at the hips, we can eliminate the side pockets on request. Our Special Order Service provides a special pocket option that instead places pockets on the inside of your coat or jacket, above the waist. In this way, the pocket contents won't add unwanted bulk to the hip area. Ask about our UnderWraps™ Pocket.

Front closure

Over-lapping front closures add double thickness, so consider the coats and jackets that just meet at center front. This will add only one layer across the front, sometimes less thickness than a wool coat. Our designs that meet at center front have a hidden hook & eye closure that adds no extra bulk.

Our faux fur stoles can be ordered with either a silk-wrapped hook & eye or a wide silk ribbon for a bow. If you are more mature or have a larger bust, consider the hidden hook & eye closure. It doesn't add any extra bulk and provides a smoother profile across the front.

Wraps

Consider stoles or capelets. They'll keep you warm and keep the faux fur fabric off your hip area.

"I can only wear it on one occasion."

Many of our clients want to invest in a Noble Fur that is versatile enough to wear both to the opera AND to the grocery store. Here are a couple ways to choose the right Noble Fur that is appropriate for a range of events and dress codes:

Colors

Choose understated faux fur fabrics that are suitable for all-occasion dressing, like mink or sable. Avoid loud colors and complicated fabric patterns.

Styles

Choose coats and jackets in classic styles in faux fur. Avoid sporty or elegant designs.

Fit

A distinctively-designed, well-made, well-fitting coat is becoming on all occasions. We can ensure that this can be said of the Noble Fur you choose.

"I won't get any use out of it in my hometown."

Many of our clients live in locations where the weather is too warm, the fashions are too casual, or the politics are too sensitive.

If you travel to other areas of the country or the world, furs may be just the thing where you're going. Some of our clients purchase Noble Furs strictly for travel. The winter weather in the Eastern US and the Great Lakes area demands fur. Faux furs are all the rage in Canada, Europe and Australia. What a great way to be warm and fashionable at the same time.
